Different from the single-layer conductive film, it has an extra layer of Spacer (spacer). The metal dome is better attached to Mylar and maintains good contact with the circuit board, giving it a better feel (somewhat similar to The “bulge” of the membrane switch) In addition, the ventilation holes on the double-layer conductive film can more effectively prevent the PET layer from being scratched by burrs of the metal dome, etc., and can also prevent dust from entering the PET layer.
The double-layer structure of the conductive film is similar to the single-layer structure. The difference is that in the double-layer structure, a layer of spacer is added below Mylar. At the same time, when the metal dome is pressed, the holes reserved on the spacer provide a better rebound (feel) for each metal dome. In addition, the spacer can also prevent defects such as burrs in the metal dome from scratching the PET, and prevent dust from entering the gap between the PET and the metal dome.
