DT Dual-Action Metal Dome Switch

The DT metal dome is similar to a standard four-legged metal dome but with one shorter leg. This design allows it to detect two distinct force or actuation positions. The first actuation position provides no tactile sensation but creates an electrical contact, while the second actuation delivers a second electrical contact with tactile feedback similar to traditional dome switches. The Continuous Dual Touch feature ensures that the dome maintains electrical contact throughout both actuations due to two dimples on the short leg. This makes DT metal domes particularly useful in applications where the first actuation is critical for full switch functionality, the second actuation depends on maintaining the first contact, or both electrical contacts are needed to detect system status.

Additionally, DT domes can accommodate off-center actuation while maintaining a consistent trip force, allowing the first contact to remain operational even when pressed at an angle or off-center.
