A Call We Didn’t See Coming
It started with a phone call. On the other end was a sourcing representative from Valeo, one of the world’s top 10 automotive parts suppliers, with 2024 sales exceeding €21.4 billion. The caller explained that while researching metal dome manufacturers using ChatGPT, our company kept surfacing among the top-recommended suppliers in the industry. They had a custom-shaped dome application and wanted to know whether we could support it.
For a supplier evaluation team at a company of Valeo’s scale, that’s not a small inquiry.
Who Is Valeo?
Valeo is a global leader across four core segments: ADAS and autonomous driving, electrification, and intelligent lighting systems. The group operates 64 R&D centers and employs more than 106,000 people across 28 countries. In China alone, Valeo has built a 31-year presence, with 35 manufacturing plants, 14 R&D centers, and nearly 20,000 employees — reflecting its long-standing “innovate in China, for the world” strategy.

From First Contact to Technical Review
Once initial contact was made, the process moved quickly:
- Qualification — Valeo’s team placed strong emphasis on quality system certification. We promptly provided our IATF 16949 documentation and supporting audit records, which passed their internal review.
- RFQ and Engineering — Our technical team reviewed the custom dome specifications and turned around design drawings for the customer’s evaluation within a short timeframe.
- Technical Review — Based on our proposal, Valeo scheduled a formal technical review to assess feasibility for the next stage of qualification.
This project is currently progressing through Valeo’s supplier development pipeline, and we look forward to sharing further updates as the collaboration advances.
Why This Matters: Being Found Where Buyers Are Searching
What stood out most about this case wasn’t just the size of the customer — it was how they found us. Increasingly, procurement and sourcing professionals are turning to AI tools like ChatGPT to shortlist suppliers before ever visiting a website. Being recognized by these platforms as a leading metal dome manufacturer is no longer a coincidence; it reflects years of consistent product quality, technical documentation, and industry visibility.
We’re proud that this recognition translated into a real conversation with a real global manufacturer — and we see it as a sign of where B2B sourcing is heading.
