Single Layer Dome Array

Single-layer dome arrays are used in dome arrays. Metal dome contacts are attached underneath Maylar, a layer of adhesive PET film. On the lamella, each dome contact has an air hole for a nice click feel.

Double Dome Array

Dual-layer dome arrays are somewhat similar to single-layer dome arrays and are implemented with metal dome contacts attached underneath the Maylar. But the pads in the double-dome array are attached underneath the metal dome contacts. The air paths function like air holes in the single layer, contributing to a nice clicky feel when pressing the dome contacts. In addition to this effect, the air channels help reduce the chance of damage to the PET film by metal dome contact burrs and prevent dust from entering the PET film.

EMI Printed Dome Array

EMI Printed Dome Array On top of a Mayler with metal dome contacts, silver paste or silver carbon paste is printed for ESD (Electrostatic Discharge Control). This helps reduce static electricity that can be harmful to other parts of your phone. Static electricity collects on the printed silver paste or silver carbon paste and is neutralized.
